Redeemer Valley Garden is a ministry of the Sisters of the Redeemer. Growing in the present, the garden has roots in the past. The Sisters of the Redeemer previously farmed the land to provide for the needs of the Congregation and the residents at St. Joseph Manor.
Gardening to nurture sustainable soil to bring forth food and flowers, and to grow the community by sharing talents, energy and abundance.
To benefit the community by growing nourishing locally-grown food, by sharing what we have gained from our labors and experiences, by education and collaboration with the Holy Redeemer Health System and other local organizations while benefiting the earth through sustainable growing practices.
The Community Garden provides individual plots and a large community supported garden. Gardeners of all skill levels who desire the experience of growing healthy food while building relationships with each other and creation are invited to participate by tending an individual plot and/or the community supported garden. The unique community supported garden aspect provides food for local food cupboards, Farmer’s Markets, the Sisters, members and volunteers of the community garden. Each gardener agrees to volunteer in the community supported garden.
